Bulgaria's right-wing opposition "Blue Coalition" submitted Tuesday morning an official request demanding a second manual vote count of the EP election ballots.
The information about the complaint filed with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), was reported by Nayden Zelenogorski, Co-Chair of the Coalition's Election Campaign Headquarters.
Zelenogorski stated that many European Parliament ballots have not been included in the count; there has been information about double voting at places along with other violations of the Election Act.
Zelenogorski gave the Stara Zagora Region as an example and added the second count request was normal, given the slim margin of 200-300 votes between the "Blues" and the National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NMSP) of former Tsar and PM, Simeon Saxe-Coburg.
CEC already declared that they would not honor the request because the decision for a second, manual vote count was not within their authority and belonged to the Supreme Court of Cassations.
Zelenogorski, on his part, said in case CEC rejects their request, they will consider filing the complaint with the Court.
