Close to BGN 10 M will be economized from the running of the upcoming local parliamentary elections and elections for European parliament.

The information was reported by Bulgaria's Minister of State Administration, Nikolay Vasilev.

The Minister said that the elections would not cost BGN 40 M as forecasted, but BGN 30 M, adding the biggest share of this money is used to pay the people working the polls.

Vasilev said that because of the global financial crisis those individuals would not receive any pay raises.

"Our institution has the reputation of safeguarding the interests of the Finance Ministry," the Minister declared.
