Bulgaria Health Minister, Evgeni Jelev, has confirmed that Magdalena, the 7-year-old-girl who was confirmed as having swine flu on Friday will be released from hospital in 2 days.

Jelev confirmed that Magdalena is recovering fast and will be released from the infectious diseases clinic in Blagoevgrad hospital within 2 days.

Magdalena is in the clinic with 9 year-old friend Simeon from Sandanski who is being kept under observation after the two of them were on the same flight back from Detroit, US. Her grandparents are also with her at the clinic.

Magdelena, from Banya village, came back from Detroit on May 29. She is reported to only have a cough and slight pains in the stomach with no high temperature or signs of fever. Six people who have been in contact with the child are being kept under observation.

The World Health Organization has been informed of the case.
