The condition of Bulgaria's Prince Kardam remains critical but stable after the hellish car crash he survived in August, his wife Miriam said Wednesday.

Kardam, the eldest son of Bulgaria's former Tsar and PM Simeon Saxe-Coburg, has not been removed from Madrid's Doce de Octubre Hospital, Spanish media informed to refute previous reports.

"Our two sons Boris and Beltran know everything about their father's health condition," Miriam Ungria explained.
She was released from hospital on September 4 after being cured by the injuries she suffered in the car accident.

Prince Kardam suffered a brain-scull trauma and his two hands are motionless, doctors from have previously reported.

But his breathing and vital signs have improved, according to the latest statement of Galiya Dicheva, spokesperson of Simeon Saxe-Coburg.

The crash took place on a highway near Madrid on August 15, 2008.
