Bulgaria's Sliven Hosts International Cyber Crime Seminar

The third international seminar dedicated to cyber crimes under the motto "Online Crimes Against Children" is held in the Bulgarian city of Sliven, as announced by the Bulgarian Interior Ministry.

One of the main topics from the seminar's agenda includes presentations about legal measures for combating computer crimes committed against children.

Discussions will involve the use of computer systems for the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, creation of physiological profiles of child molesters, investigation of computer crimes in Bulgaria and penalties for those committing them.

The Seminar is organized by the Bulgarian General Direction for Combating Organized Crime (CDCOC) at the Interior Ministry and the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Participants in the lectures and the discussions include Jim Plitt, Regional AttachГ© of the United States Department of Homeland Security at the US Embassy in Vienna, two special agents from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Cyber Crime Centre, Ilona Krusteniyakova, prosecutor from the Bulgarian Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office and Svetoslav Vasilev, Deputy Director of Sofia's Investigating Office.
