Sofia citizens went out on the streets on Wednesday night to celebrate Halloween, despite the fact that the fact that it is not a traditional Bulgarian holiday, rather an imported one that became quite popular in the country in the recent years.

Among the many S&M and costume parties, one specific one attracted the attention of the lovers of literature and books.

The League of the Storytellers gathered its members and other interested people in the Sofia club Gramophone at a literary event dedicated to ghost and vampire stories.

All present people were invited to tell their ghost and vampire stories. The first who dared to stand up was a girl named Polly, who narrated a spooky experience while in Romania.

Than came Eddy, who told a nice joke about a family of imps. His stand-up was followed by Dancho and his story about two turtles - Vampire and Goblin, who died mysteriously. A guy, who called himself Diablo, told an ominous story, which happened a 100 years ago near the Petrohan pass in northern Bulgaria.

An improvised gothic party was organized in the The Mask club in Students' Town in Sofia. Still it wasn't the only Halloween party that the Sofia citizens could visit throughout the whole night.
Beer Place "The Broken Hearts Club" in the heart of students town area once again gathered costumed enthusiasts willing to celebrate the imported holiday.

Halloween is based on the ancient Celtic holiday 'All Hallows Eve', that marked the only day of the year when dead spirits were allowed to walk the earth.

Most celebrated in the US, Halloween has now spread its influence mainly as a commercialized event in many countries that did not celebrate it five or ten years ago, Bulgaria included.
