Passenger Ship Line Connects Bulgaria to Romania over Danube

Business | May 28, 2007, Monday // 00:00

A 200-seats passenger ship will travel from Bulgaria's Svishtov to Romania's town of Zimnich starting from June 1.

After the successful completion of the talks for reducing the passenger ship taxes, the mayors of the two towns have also agreed to abolish the port taxes for passenger traffic.

The new Danube transport line will operate every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, twice daily. The return ticket will cost only EUR 5 and this is a fast, easy and comfortable way of travelling between the two countries.

The ship has three decks, a restaurant, a cafeteria and a special promenade deck for sunbathing.

Currently all who want to pass the Danube Bridge to go to Romania and respectively to Bulgaria have to pay EUR 7.5.
