Grammy-winning soul singer Luther Vandross has died at the age of 54. The cherished artist passed away at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.
The cause of his death remained undisclosed.
Vandross had stopped making public appearances in April, 2003, when he suffered a stroke. He also had diabetes and hypertension.
Nevertheless, the famous balladeer managed to keep recording. He even won four Grammy Awards last year, including the one for best song.
Luther Vandross was celebrated as one of the greatest R&B crooners of his generation.
