Egypt, Bulgaria Agree on JVs for Cigarette Production

Bulgaria's tobacco heavyweight Bulgartabac and Egypt's national tobacco company have agreed on setting up joint ventures for production of cigarettes. Some 4000 tonnes of tobacco will be exported from Bulgaria to Egypt by the end of the year.

Brisk demand for wheat on the Black Sea market, including Romania and Ukraine, keeps prices pretty high, Agriculture Minister Mehmed Dikme said. A tonne of wheat currently trades for BGN 190-195, while last year the price was as low as BGN 150.

Incentives for developing competition in the grain sector were pointed out by Minister Dikme as one of the government's priorities.
