Bulgarian Madrid Consul Meets Arrested Sailors

The Bulgarian consul in Madrid has been able to meet seven of the 21 Bulgarian sailors from the ship recently detained with 3 tonnes of cocaine.

The sailors are feeling well, with their detainee rights being safeguarded, informs the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Next week the consul in Madrid will be able to meet the rest of the Sv. Nikolay ship Bulgarian crew.

At present, the sailors are being questioned by authorities, with investigative work still under way.

The vessel, travelling under a Bulgarian flag was detained on August 13 near Cadiz, Spain, and found to contain 3 tonnes of high-quality cocaine.
