The Vitosha Bistritsa "Tigers", the amateur football team Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has been reportedly flown to the Black Sea city of Varna on the government's Airbus for a friendly game.
The information was published by the Bulgarian Pressa (Press) daily, citing unnamed Members of the Parliament from the opposition, left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP.
The adversary – the Chavdar team from the town of Etropole near Sofia has been on the same flight.
The game has been played at the Varna "Ticha" stadium.
The MPs claim the reason for the lavish sports trip has been a cards game which Borisov lost to controversial MP from his ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, Emil Dimitrov, who is from the area of Etropole, and an honorary president of the Chavdar team.
Borisov had bet to fulfill one wish of Dimitrov. The winner had then asked for the friendly game in Varna.
When approached by Pressa, Dimitrov labeled the opposition's claims about "cards games, betting, and wishes" a "complete non-sense."
He, however, admitted that the "Airbus" has been used, but insists that the flight had been paid by Chavdar, which invited Vitosha Bistritsa for the friendly.
Dimitrov also confirmed that the game took place in Varna, during the last week of July, and the Vitosha Bistritsa Tigers won by 1:0.
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
The government is making a second clumsy attempt to introduce the state budget.
