Bulgarian ruling party GERB MP Emil Dimitrov has confirmed reports that top football club CSKA Sofia will change owners and come to be led by erstwhile football star Hristo Stoichkov.
Dimitrov has said he had a meeting with CSKA owner Dimitar Borisov, CEO of the Titan company, at which Borisov agreed to sale the majority share in the club.
The GERB MP is one of the initators of a Committee on the Revival of CSKA, featuring other public figures and businessmen.
It is expected that current owner Dimitar Borisov will confirm the report Monday, says the Bulgarian Information Agency.
Famous Bulgarian forward Hristo Stoichkov, who currently coaches Litex Lovech, is expected to move in as CSKA's president, as rumored earlier, said Dimitrov.
CSKA Sofia was the club from which Stoichkov started his exceptionally successful carreer as a footballer in the mid-1980s.
Titan is expected to remain a sponsor of the club, which of late has been experiencing multiple managerial problems.
