Police have detained a woman for stealing documents containing unfavorable information from the Sofia-based Supreme Administrative Court (VAS).

On Tuesday afternoon, the court secretary assigned to an administrative case concerning illegal construction sounded the alert about a number of missing documents.

It was revealed that a woman had come the same day, asking to get acquainted with the paperwork.

After being presented with the folder, she had managed to pilfer three documents with unfavorable content issued by the Gabrovo District Prosecutor's Office.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday after a hearing on the case which took place despite the stolen files because the other party had succeeded to get the documents re-issued.

She resisted arrest but eventually made a full confession.

The search of an apartment in Sofia where the Gabrovo citizen was staying yielded the missing paperwork.

The 58-year-old woman was officially charged and placed under a remand measure of signed promise for appearance.
