Changes to Sofia's Airport Bus Service: Line 384 Discontinued, New Express Route Soon
Bus line 384, which previously operated between Druzhba-2 district and Sofia Airport, has been officially discontinued, announced the Center for Urban Mobility.
Bulgaria is to hold a national day of mourning Thursday for the persons who have perished in a bus crash on the Trakiya Highway in the small hours Wednesday.
"PM Boyko Borisov has sent his condolences for the deaths and has proposed that June 16 be declared a national day of mourning," said Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
He further said that investigations are underway regarding the cause of the incident, which happened around 1 am in the direction from Sofia to Burgas nearby Plovdiv.
8 persons have died and 20 have suffered injuries, 1 of them life-threatening, when their bus capsized and went in flames.
The passenger cabin of the bus has been completely burnt, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
Further information has it that the bus had travelled at 100 km/h at the time of the accident, and that as of now it has one of its rear tyres flat.
Investigators have established that the vehicle was in good working condition and had underwent requisite inspections. Drivers were experienced and fully rested.
