The cabinet is prepared to reinstate next week the rights of the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" on the disputed Botanical Garden in the Black Sea town of Balchik.

The proposal will be made jointly by Culture Minister, Vezhdi Rashidov, and Education Minister, Sergey Ignatov, next Wednesday, during the regular session of the Council of Ministers. The two met Friday to discuss the future management of the Garden.

"We are moving together in a clear direction. We need another couple of days, so that our lawyers can iron out all details," Rashidov said.

Statements coming from both Ministers revealed Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, had been the mediator in taming the flaring emotions, surrounding the ownership of the Botanical Garden.

The decision to give the garden back to the University comes less than 24 hours after the school warned it would close doors for an undetermined period of time in sign of protest against the decision from May 2010, to transfer the Garden's management to the Culture Ministry. Later Thursday, the protest plans changed to become a symbolic closure of the building's main entrance.

The latest outrage was stirred last week, after the Supreme Administrative Court (VAS) rejected the University claim against the cabinet's decision.

"We should not allow a conflict having the potential to restrict the education process. There has never been a single doubt about it," Rashidov said Friday.

Ignatov stated the text must include a mandatory clause about the preservation of the "landscape in order to stop possible future invasions of tractors and construction equipment and destroy this historical and cultural heritage."
