Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov announced he will convene the newly elected parliament for its first sitting on July 14, while the mandate for forming the next government will be handed just a few days later.
"This should be discussed first with the next prime minister," President Georgi Parvanov said at a meeting with journalists on Tuesday.
He predicted that the next government will survive its full term, saying that "GERB victory is impressive and a prerequisite for stability."
"If the next prime minister is ready for a meeting, I won't be a minute late," he added.
Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov scored a sweeping election victory on July 5.
Borisov's center-right party won 39.7% of the vote, more than twice as many as the incumbent Socialists, allowing Borisov to form a coalition with the Blue Coalition.
Under local legislation the Central Electoral Committee has to announce the final results and the distribution of MP seats no later than July 9. The names of the newly elected members of parliament should be known on July 12 at the latest.
