The export of Bulgarian companies for Germany totals BGN 2,4 B while Germany's import is estimated at BGN 5 M, preliminary data of the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute reveals.
The data was announced by the Chair of the German-Bulgarian Industrial and Trade Chamber Mitko Vassilev, cited by the Bulgarian "Pari" daily.
Germany maintains its sixth ranking as a foreign investor in Bulgaria. The top three investors are Austria, the Netherlands and Greece.
Thursday, the German-Bulgarian Industrial and Trade Chamber also announced the 2008 German business awards for Bulgaria.
The Newspaper group "Bulgaria" and its Chair Axel Schindler received the award in the "Large Enterprise" category. The "Small and Medium Business" award was bestowed to the Plovdiv company "Filkab" and its Director Ivan Kukov. The company deals with supply and distribution of cables, wires and electrical equipment. In the last three years "Filkab" has invested over BGN 12 M in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania.
"Sun Service" manged by Rumen Hristov took the award for a company that is not a member of the German-Bulgaria Chamber. The company specializes in the design, building and maintenance of photo voltaic systems. One of the company's most successful projects is the photo voltaic park near the town of Ihtiman.
