All three crossing points on the Bulgaria-Greece border, which have been blockaded by protesting Greek farmers for several days, were reopened briefly to ease off the tensions, the BGNES news agency reported.

The Greek farmers agreed to let through 100 trucks from both sides, as well as a total of 50 cars, at the busiest checkpoint Kulata-Promahon. This reduced significantly the line of waiting trucks on the Bulgarian side of the border, which is now about 3 km long.

The Bulgarian Border Police and the Greek authorities managed to work out deals with the protesting farmers at the two border crossing points as well.

The easternmost Kapitan Petko Voivoda-Ormenion Checkpoint was opened from 2 pm until 3:30 pm, and the Ilinden-Eksohi Checkpoint was opened from 3 pm until 5 pm on Wednesday afternoon.
