Рћver 50 officers of Bulgaria's Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) have submitted resignation requests over the last month.

According to the Bulgarian private Darik Radio, a large number of those asking to resign are from the Drugs Unit as well as from the regional units of the Directorate.

The Interior Ministry has declined to confirm the number of the resigning cops, or to comment on the reasons for the resignations.

After it was shaken by corruption scandals in the first half of 2008, Bulgaria's Interior is undergoing restructuring but the changes and their consequences are not completely clear yet.
