One of the partners in Bulgaria's ruling coalition, NMSP party, is to abstain from voting at the Friday's no-confidence move against the cabinet, filed by the opposition over the current scandals that have shaken the Interior Ministry.
The decision was made during a sitting of the formation's council and was backed by the leader Simeon Saxe-Coburg.
"We have informed our coalition partners from the Turkish ethnic and the Socialist parties about our decision," the MP Stanimir Ilchev said.
"The further steps we will take depend on the reforms to be made in the Interior Ministry's structures," he added.
Ilchev explained that his colleagues' position show the party's intention to play an important role in the political life in Bulgaria in the future.
The leader of NMSP's parliamentary group Plamen Mollov claimed his party is a loyal coalition partner and would not refuse to take responsibility over the country's ruling.
