True to their pledge for no let up in strike until their demands for higher wages are met, teachers in several Bulgarian towns blocked major crossings for the second day in a row.

More than 150 protestors disrupted traffic in the area close to the Russian Monument in downtown Sofia, drawing the anger of car drivers.

Similar blockades were staged in the western district of Lyulin in the capital, the Asparuhov bridge in the Black Sea town of Varna, the Gladstone street in the second-biggest town of Plovdiv and the central boulevard in the northern town of Lovech.
