The day of love and romance, February 14, was picked to mark the start of the second stage of a national campaign for anonymous and free HIV/AIDS consultancy and testing. Bulgarian Red Cross volunteers will give out leaflets and brochures promoting this service, while test willful will be able to receive the results from it for just ten minutes. The events are to take place around schools and universities in the country's largest cities, including Sofia, Plovdiv. Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo and Russe. Since the beginning of 2005, 14 new cases of HIV/AIDS have been recorded in Bulgaria, health officials said, but they are afraid official statistics is far from the reality.
