Over 300 opposition supporters have stormed the interior department headquarters in Dzhalal Abad in southern Kyrgyzstan, Russian media reported Sunday.
They have broken the doors open and are throwing bottles filled with flammable liquid into the windows. The one-storied building accommodating the police headquarters and the local administration has caught fire. There are policemen inside the building, according to witnesses.
The protesters are demanding the president's resignation and the release of two protesters, detained earlier in the morning.
The tension in the country escalated after the final results of the parliamentary elections were announced, giving a 90% victory to pro-governmental party.
The Kyrgyzstan's opposition has immediately started actions for revoking the results, which brought to mass disorder.
