Russian Hostages Freed, Kidnapper Kills Himself

Officers from Russia's special services have freed the hostages, taken by the two deserters near Moscow on Thursday.

One of the soldiers shoot himself, and the other was arrested, according to information from a prosecutors office in a Moscow region, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The soldiers fled their garrison near Moscow after seizing Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition.

They killed two police officers who tried to stop them, and locked themselves in a private apartment building, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement released to the media.
