Russian criminal group is behind the murder of the Bulgarian underworld boss Konstantin Dimitrov-Samokovetsa, Bulgarian Info radio reported citing underworld sources.
Samokovetsa was killed at a central Amsterdam square on Saturday while staring at the near by shop windows with his friend Tsetsi Krassimirova.
Info radio claimed that the Russians refused to work with the Bulgarian dealers Konstantin Dimitrov and his partner Metodi Metodiev nicknamed Meto Iliyanski so the Russians decided to remove the two rivals for the major heroin smuggling channel from Turkey to Western Europe.
The report also said that the Russian group pointed out several Bulgarians that will take up the positions of Samokovetsa and Meto Iliyanski. Anton Miltenov dubbed Klyuna (The Beak) - another well-known "underworld" figure in the country will be coordinator in Bulgaria. The radio claims that all these changes will lead to some future violate confrontations in Bulgaria.
Samokovetsa run a small legal business in the Netherlands that was used to cover his drug deals, according to Info radio. It also alleges that Samokovetsa biggest drug supplier was a Dutch.
