First U.N. Aid Convoy Crosses Into Iraq

The first U.N. aid convoy carrying drinking water drove into Iraq from Iran on Friday.

A U.N. official said 11 trucks carrying 102,000 liters of drinking water -- 5,100 20-liter jerrycans -- supplied by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) crossed the frontier at Shalamcheh in southwestern Khuzestan province.
