Marine Le Pen, leader of France's far right xenophobic National Front party, has strongly criticized her country's government for allowing more Bulgarians and Romanians to the labor market.
France eased the access to its labor market for Bulgarians and Romanians, dropping restrictions for a total of 291 jobs (up from 150) in sectors where employers find it hard to recruit staff.
The easing of labor restrictions in France was announced on August 22 alongside the revocation of a tax which employers had to pay to hire Bulgarian or Romanian nationals.
In a statement, Marine Le Pen has described the move as "insulting" to the unemployed French people.
The measure is "outrageous in the context of the massive unemployment rate in France," she has declared, as cited by France's Le Nouvel Observateur and Bulgaria's Focus news agency.
