Bulgaria Grants BGN 100 000 Paralympic Athletes amid Funding Row
The government will disburse BGN 100 000 (EUR 51 045) to paralympic athletes, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said.
Bulgarian Radoslav Zlatanov won a gold medal at the long jump (F13) contest at the London 2012 Paralympics.
The 24-year-old made a 6.81 m jump at his fifth try, which is his personal best and landed him third in the contest.
Zlatanov ranked behind two Cubans - Luis Felipe Gutierez (7.54 m - new record), and Angel Jimenez (7.14 m).
Earlier Saturday Radoslav Zlatanov also qualified for the 100 m run (T13), landing fourth in the series with 11.10 sec, also a personal best.
