Experts at Bulgaria's Interior Ministry have managed to recover the fingerprints of the suicide bomber behind the July 18 terror attack at the Burgas Airport.
The data has been submitted to the Interpol and the FBI for analysis, according to a Thursday media statement of Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
A bus carrying Israeli tourists exploded Wednesday afternoon at the airport of the Bulgarian resort city, killing at least seven people and wounded more than 32.
Five people died at the site of the explosion and 32 were admitted to hospital, two of which died overnight.
Tsvetanov told journalists Thursday that a DNA test would be made and the results would also be sent to the partner services.
He specified that the suicide bomber had been carrying a Michigan driver's license.
Bulgaria's Interior Minister said that the man had been casually dressed and had had nothing suspicious about him to tell him apart from the crowd of tourists at the Burgas airport.
Tsvetanov explained that he had been wearing Bermuda shorts and a backpack.
The man appeared on a security camera about an hour before the attack.
According to preliminary reports, the explosion started in the bus' luggage compartment when the suicide bomber took off the backpack from his back.
Tsvetanov was adamant that Bulgaria had not been the target of the terror attack.
