Dimitar Berbatov's agent has claimed the popular Bulgarian striker wants to play for Manchester United until the end of his career.
"I'm almost sure he will finish his competitive career with United," Emil Danchev, who has always represented Berbatov, told local TV 7. "He is a very balanced person and he knows what is best for him."
"There are different characters at United and there's big competition too. Berbatov sets an example to everyone in the team."
Danchev made it clear nobody will manage to convince Dimitar Berbatov to return to the Bulgarian national squad, following his international retirement in May.
His agent added: "He decided to make way for some younger players in the team."
Dimitar Berbatov announced his retirement from international football at the beginning of May with immediate effect. He explained at the time that he had become "discouraged" by his performances for his country, dealing a heavy blow to the team.
The 29-year-old was captain of his country and scored a national record 48 goals in just 74 matches.
Earlier this year he ruled out playing football at 35, saying in this way he would "make a fool" of himself.
Berbatov will turn thirty in just a few months. His contract with Manchester United expires in 2013, when he will be thirty-three.
