The Israeli ambassador to Turkey was not invited to the Ramadan dinner given out by Turkish PM Recep Tayip Erdogan.

He was the only diplomatic corps representative not to be invited to the traditional dinner.

This comes amid embittered relations between the two countries, which have led Turkey to threaten even diplomatic break beginning of July.

The denouement comes after Israeli special forces attacked end of May a flotilla with humanitarian help heading for Gaza, killing nine people. Eight of them were Turkish nationals, while the ninth was an American citizen of Turkish origin.

Turkey had repeatedly called for an independent international investigation of the incident, which Israel has refused. The Israeli investigation is still underway.
