Rayka Ontsova, Head of the "Audit of EU Funds" Executive Agency at the Ministry of Finance, has been dismissed.

Ontsova has been fired by the Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, at the order of the Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The main motive for her dismissal is that she failed to notify the Finance Minister of correspondence with the European Commission that required urgent measures on part of the Bulgarian authorities.

On August 12 and 13, the EC sent letters to the Bulgarian government regarding the compliance assessments of the operational programs "Transport", "Technical Assistance", and "Competitiveness" that were not reported to Djankov and respectively to Borisov.

The letters are submitted through the European information system to the Director of the Executive Agency "Audit of EU Funds", and the managing institutions of the operational programs.
