The leader of the GERB party and most likely new Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, has vowed to remove the ambassadors and consuls appointed by the outgoing cabinet on Thursday.

"The Prime Minister and leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Stanishev continues to appoint people from his circle of friends as ambassadors and general consuls, and to complete his scams," Borisov said.

He promised to remove all newly appointed diplomats when he took office but is first going to talk to President Parvanov, who is supposed to sign the decree for the appointments. Borisov said the members of the BSP should know that their leader was only dealing with scams.

Borisov's reaction came after on Thursday at its last session ever, the outgoing government appointed new Bulgarian Ambassadors to Japan, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Marrocco, and new General Consuls in New York, Chicago, Milan, Thessaloniki, and Edirne (Adrianople).
