Boyko Borisov Votes with a Paper Ballot: Is there a Functioning Machine, or Have They Run Out?
Boyko Borisov chose to cast his vote with a paper ballot in Bankya today.
Bulgaria’s conservative Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party have been removed from their posts on Parliamentary commissions after their party ceased to exist as a parliamentary group on Wednesday.
The RZS MPs slammed the manner of their removal Thursday after governing GERB party Chair Lachezar Ivanov announced the final notice that they must leave their positions early Wednesday. RZS Leader, Yane Yanev, said “the fact that the RZS MPs were not given a chance to speak for a final time in the posts in Parliament is against the rules and is a typical action of this GERB militia.”
Yanev said, after being removed from his post as Chair of the Parliamentary anti-corruption commission and replaced by Dimo Gyaurov, an MP from the right-wing Blue Coalition, that the Commission should be investigating conflict of interest action against 14 ministers who had grossly violated the law. He did not confirm if PM Boyko Borisov was amongst them.
The whole issue was triggered by Tagarinski, who announced Friday he was leaving the RZS parliamentary group. This move led to the group falling apart since it now has 9 members instead of the required minimum of 10.
