Israel Closes Gaza Crossings

The Israeli military has closed border crossings into the Gaza Strip following a rocket attack from the territory, which shook the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire.
The rocket was fired from the Hamas-run territory on Thursday, prompting an early weekend closure of the border crossings, Israeli officials said, as cited by Al Jazeera.
"A Qassam rocket was fired from the Beit Hanoun area. We have not identified an impact but an explosion was heard north of Sderot," an army spokesman said.
Several rockets and mortar rounds have been fired at Israel from Gaza since the truce went into effect last month.
The truce was supposed to ease Israel's blockade of Gaza, imposed more than a year ago when Hamas took power in the area.
