The 26-year-old socialite Nicole Richie gave birth to a baby girl named Harlow Winter Kate Madden on Friday at a LA hospital, OK! Magazine reported.

This is the first child of The Simple Life star and her rocker beau Joel Madden.

The mom's father Lionel Richie and her younger sister Sofia have also been spotted in the hospital.

Little Harlow is a week early as, according to Joel's brother, Nicole was not due until "some time" next week.

Today's happy arrival culminates a life anew for the former troubled celebutante. After surrendering herself for a DUI (for which she will serve an 82-minute jail sentence), Nicole confirmed her pregnancy in an interview in July.

Nicole vowed to turn her life around for the sake of her child, and, in December, launched the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation with Joel with the goal of providing opportunities for children and families in need.
