Sofia Appellate Court will hear on Wednesday an appeal, filed by MP Vladimir Kuzov, who was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of paedophilia.

The verdict was delivered by Sofia City Court on May 9 after finding Kuzov guilty of having sex with Nikolay Kirilov, who was underage at the time.

The former Ataka MP, who split from the party after the accusations were first raised against him, has repeatedly protested his innocence.

He claimed that he had been the first MP in the country who was proven normal, after experts deduced he has no sexual or psychological problems. The MP believes the whole accusation against him was a smear campaign aimed at discrediting nationalists Ataka (Attack).
