Bulgaria's Interior Minister Rumen Petkov announced that police have apprehended Saturday night one of the country's greatest ATM fraudsters.
He was caught with BGN 35,000 that he had illegally drained from ATMs, Petkov told Darik News.
Police managed to apprehend him red-handed after they were tipped off that a man was lurking around the ATM. The culprit, known under the alias Divaka (The Savage) made officers' work easier by not using gloves and leaving fingerprits all over the ATM.
The minister also added that crime in the downtown part of Sofia, where authorities placed surveillance cameras has gone down to zero.
He explained that at the end of the month, employees of the Interior Ministry would land a pay raise of about 7%.
