The Central Post Office in the very heart of Bulgaria's capital Sofia was closed Tuesday after a phone call has been received warning that there is a bomb inside the building.

The largest private TV channel bTV reports that a suspicious package has been found inside one of the restrooms.

Teams of the Sofia Directorate of the Interior Ministry have been immediately dispatched to the location. After thoroughly checking the premises, they established it had been a fake alert.

Upon being evacuated, retired people, who were inside the building to receive their pensions, calmly waited outside until the alert was lifted, instead of dispersing and going home.
