Bulgaria's top football player of all times, Hristo Stoichkov, has no chance of becoming the coach of the Vietnam national team because he had asked for too much money.
The news came Saturday from the largest private Bulgarian TV channel bTV, citing Vietnamese press.
Reports say Stoichkov had been among the top candidates for the job, but had dropped out as early as the first round since he had asked for a salary of USD 200 000 a month, shocking the Vietnamese football bosses and prompting them to announce the Bulgarian's demands are unacceptable.
The favorites are Germans, Falko Gotz and Jurgen Gede, asking for a monthly wage of USD 25 000 and USD 15 000 respectively.
Local press writes Stoichkov's visit in Hanoi, in the company of several Bulgarian businessman, at the moment when the Vietnamese Football Federation is to announce their choice, had been surprising since there have not been any negotiations between the two parties regarding the post.
