Bulgaria: Brazil's Dilma Rousseff to Accompany Lula at G-20 Summit

The newly elected Brazilian President, Bulgaria-descended Dilma Rousseff, will accompany her outgoing predecessor, Ignacio Lula da Silva, at the G-20 summit in Seoul, the Brazilian Minister of Planning, Paulo Bernardo, has announced.

The G-20 summit will be held on November 11 and 12 in Seoul. According to The Korea Herald, the upcoming meeting could become crucial turning point in battling protectionism in both international trade and currency policies, as well as adding momentum to stagnating agreement over international trade.

On Sunday, Rousseff was elected the first female president of Brazil.

The 62-year-old economist, who won the battle with cancer last year, will take several-days vacation before leaving on Saturday for the summit with Lula.

The two will first visit Mozambique where they will open a plant for generic medicines. After that, they will proceed to South Korea for the G-20 summit.

The Brazilian state news agency has informed that Lula is planning to take Rousseff to eight visits abroad until January 1, where she will officially take the power.
