2 More 'Sheikhs' Busted by Bulgarian Police

Two more people have been arrested in connection to the special police operation “the Sheikhs”, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry has announced.
Earlier on Friday, the Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov announced that nine people, including four police officers, were arrested over illegal draining of fuel.
The police have arrested a 36-year-old dispatcher in the Lukoil base, responsible for informing the crime ring about the time of transportation of fuel. His brother was among the arrested police officers.
Another man, known as “The Flea”, was arrested in the Bulgarian Black Sea town of Chernomorets. He has also helped the crime ring.
On Friday morning, the Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov has announced that during a a special operation called “the Sheikhs”, the police found a truck that had a disguised tank inside, full of eight tons of gasoline.
The police have arrested nine men, four of whom were police officers.
It has been established that the policemen have constructed a complicated facility from an old plumbing, through which they have been draining the gasoline. The men were equipped with night vision devices.
The operation has taken three months and has been a cooperation between the Interior Ministry, the regional police department in Burgas, the military police force and a security company, guarding the Lukoil base.
