Bulgaria is in preparation for a unique conference, which places the country among the first in the world. The two-day information technology forum, which will take place in a few days attracts the interest of the world's largest in the IT industry. The idea of this conference comes from the Indian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be held within Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. It will be attended by managers from the IT industry, digital business and cyber security in Europe, investment ventures. Global tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, IBM are also taking part.
India's Ambassador to Bulgaria, Pooja Kapur, said that Bulgaria should be proud that it is seen as the Silicon Valley of Eastern Europe. This opens up huge opportunities for us and I think the time has come for our mature cooperation to rise to an even higher level. The IT Conference for the Balkans in Sofia has not accidentally attracted a huge interest not only from Indian companies. And India, as you know, has a leading role in the digital world revolution.
The forum in Sofia aims to bring together the IT potential of India and the United States in Bulgaria and to use the Bulgarian know-how and potential to turn Bulgaria into an IT centre on the Balkans and an open door to Europe.
The Indian-Bulgarian Chamber of Business, established 2 years ago in Sofia, is currently the only bilateral chamber with agreements with the powerful FICCI – the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which has 250,000 corporate members.
