Five months prior to the local elections, the Sofia municipality of Krasno Selo decided to construct two mini football fields in the heart of the Roma neighborhood Fakulteta.
They will also be equipped with specialized watering systems and artificial turf, as per all FIFA requirements, LED lights and all necessary nets. Additionally, there will be 180 seats available for audience.
The location chosen for the playing fields is an abandoned area, currently used as an illegal landfill.
The total cost of the project is set at BGN 270,000 according to the official tender announced. Meanwhile, the deadline for companies to state their request to participate in the tender procedure will last until June 24.
The football fields are expected to be ready no later than three months from now, right prior to the eminent local elections in Bulgaria set for October 25. The main criteria for the winner to be chosen will be the ''the most favorable economic offer'', as stated by the Krasno Selo Mayor Ivan Chakarov.
