The Sofia District Police Directorate has specified that the bank robbery reported Tuesday morning was actually a raid on an office of insurance company Alianz.
The two robbers stole around BGN 60 000 form the office on 123 Dondukov Blvd in downtown Sofia.
The two men wearing black jackets and motorcycle helmets entered the office minutes before 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
They pointed a gun at the cashier, took around BGN 60 000, and ran away on foot, not on motorcycles, as previously reported.
The signal for the robbery was received around 8.45 a.m., according to the Interior Ministry's press office.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
The police are inspecting the site, examining eyewitnesses, and looking for CCTV footage.
