Road haulage workers have staged roadblocks on Danube Bridge 2, connecting Vidin in Bulgaria to Calafat in Romania, private NOVA TV broadcaster reports.

One has told NOVA he had to wait for 40 hours before crossing into Bulgaria, while the average stay for most of the others is 15 hours.
Focus Radio reports that the lanes direction Calafat-Vidin, leading to the bridge, are packed with kilometers of trucks, whose drivers are waiting to be granted passage.
It takes time not only to process the papers but also to scan the trucks entering and leaving the country as police are looking for irregular migrants hidden in the vehicles.
