Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov boasted that over 10 000 jobs had been created in plants opened over the past few days in the country.
Speaking Friday in Devnya at the opening of a new production line at the local cement plant, Borisov noted that the new jobs had been created in Burgas, Stara Zagora, and Devnya, according to reports of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.
Stressing that the output of Devnya Cement was used for the construction of motorways in Bulgaria, he expressed hope that in 2016 the products of the plant would be utilized for the Hemus motorway.
Italy’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Marco Conticelli pointed out that Italian investments in Bulgaria were producing clear results.
He said that the cement plant in Devnya was already one of the largest in Europe and the technologies used there contributed to reducing environmental pollution and increasing production.
Serge Schmidt, General Manager Bulgaria and Greece at Italcementi Group, informed that the investment was worth BGN 325 M and that the capacity of the new production line stood at 2 million tonnes of cement and klinker a year.
