Even though Bulgarian economy went through a 5 year recession period it is still the best performing economy on the Balkans, said PM Oresharski at a conference.

Bulgaria is the leading economy in the Balkan region, said Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski in his speech at the opening of EU-Balkan Summit, organized by renowned „Economist“ magazine.

Bulgaria has the highest credit rating among the Balkan countries, according to the three leading credit agencies, pointed out Oresharski.

With public debt at 17% of GDP and budget deficit of 2% Bulgaria is one of the most financially stable countries in EU one of its least indebted members, said the Bulgarian PM.

EU-Balkan summit „Paving The Way To Recovery and Growth“ is an international event about the  impact of EU membership for Bulgaria and Romania.
