The leader of Bulgaria's marginal conservative Order, Law and Justice party, RZS, Yane Yanev, has left on a 10-day working trip to the US.
The news was reported Sunday by the RZS press office.
The main goal of the visit is participation in meetings and events organized by the presidential election headquarters of the US Republican party.
According to RZS, Yanev is the first Bulgarian politician, who will be part of the heated presidential race in support of the Republican nominations.
While in Washington DC, the conservative will meet former Defense Minister in the George W. Bush administration, Donald Rumsfeld. In New York he will talk to City Councilman Daniel Halloran, who is currently campaigning for the Congress, with NY State Senator, David Storobin, and US Representative Robert Turner from New York's 9th district.
During the trip, Yanev will also visit the city of Chicago, home of the largest Bulgarian community on North America.
In his capacity of Chairman of the group for Bulgarian-Israeli Friendship, he will meet with representatives of leading American and international Jewish organizations.
