Bulgaria: Bulgarian Man Survives Coma Caused by Shocking Blood Alcohol Content

The life of a Bulgarian man with a blood alcohol content of 0.566% was saved in the Pirogov Hospital in Sofia overnight.

The 31-year-old man with initials V. Y. from the Banishora Quarter in Sofia was brought to the emergency in a coma caused by the excessive drinking, announced the press center of the Pirogov Hospital.

The man with the staggering blood alcohol content of 0.566% was stabilized by the morning and has regained consciousness.

The highest ever recorded blood alcohol content in Bulgaria, and perhaps the highest in the world, - 0.914% - was set by a 67-year-old man in the city of Plovdiv in December 2004.
